How to submit a My Number Card driver’s license

If you do not have a plastic Japanese driver’s license card and only hold a My Number Card–integrated license (マイナ免許証), do not photograph the card itself. Upload the driver’s license image obtained from the National Police Agency’s reading app.

What is a My Number Card driver’s license?

A My Number Card driver’s license stores license data on your My Number Card. Because it looks like a My Number Card, photographing the card alone does not provide a usable license image for verification.

Steps to submit

Prepare a license image you can upload to Explorer as follows.

Install the National Police Agency’s “My Number Card driver’s license reading app” on your phone or PC
Read your My Number Card license in the app and save the displayed driver’s license image to your device
On Explorer’s driver’s license upload screen, submit the saved front and back images

Download and usage instructions are on the National Police Agency’s dedicated site. Always obtain the app from the official site.

For Pattern A (Japanese driver’s license) identity verification, upload the front and back license images saved from the app. Photos of the My Number Card itself are not accepted.
