Age suitability
Tcab Explorer is an app for booking, identity verification, and payment for car share and rental. Driving the vehicle requires a legally valid driving qualification.
Intended age range
This app is intended for people who are old enough and qualified to drive a standard passenger car under applicable law. In Japan, a standard-class driver’s license generally requires the holder to be 18 or older. We do not intend age groups that cannot obtain a driving qualification to use the service as solo drivers.
Who this app is for
We design the experience for the following use cases.
- People with a Japan-valid driving qualification book, pick up, and return a vehicle
- Even with passengers, the registered driver is a qualified adult
- Without verified qualification, insurance cannot apply and the service cannot be used
Age and driving qualification
Age suitability is driven by road-traffic licensing rules more than by in-app entertainment content.
- Japanese standard-class license: generally 18+
- IDP or foreign license + translation: assumes the holder can drive a standard car in the issuing country
- We do not intend minors to register or drive as solo drivers
In-app content
The app focuses on booking, pricing, identity verification, and payment. It does not include violence, sexual content, or gambling entertainment. The primary age factor is the qualification required to drive.
How we verify
Before or after booking, we collect license documents and verify identity so we can confirm a Japan-valid driving qualification. See the driver’s license guide for details.
